Bio
Claire Demorest is from Detroit, Michigan. She has been surrounded and inspired by the arts her entire life. She began dancing at a very young age and through that, discovered her love for music. She began writing music when she was 5 and wrote and recorded the title track for a children’s choir album called Why We Sing, when she was just 7 years old. Growing up in Detroit, Claire had the benefit of being surrounded by the classic sound and spirit of Motown. Claire got her first role in a church musical when she was 5 and found her greatest passion in acting. Claire attended performing arts schools and participated in community theatre growing up. She sang in her church choir, community gospel choirs in Detroit and participated in as many talent competitions and showcases as possible there. At age 10 she began traveling around the US, Canada and Africa with the children’s ministry choir called “Pebbles and Stones”, and that same year was featured in a gospel music showcase in Nashville, Tennessee. When she was thirteen, she won a dance competition and used the prize money to take a trip to LA with her Mom, to convince her Mother that that’s where she belonged. During the trip Claire met with casting directors and agents, who told her and her mother that she could indeed become successful there. Claire and her mother returned to Detroit, but both knew that LA is where Claire belonged. Three years (and countless talent shows) later, Claire and her mother found an opportunity to move to LA and did so during Claire’s freshman year in high school. After moving to LA, Claire’s Mom took a position teaching college courses while Claire landed an agent and soon booked multiple national commercials for Wal Mart, Coca-Cola, The American Academy of Dermatology and Olympic Sponsors. She became the third member of an R&B girl group in 2008, performed in and around Los Angeles and recorded lead vocals on the band’s EP. The group separated in 2009 and Claire has gone on to land small roles in films, like “Not Easily Broken”, and recently filmed a guest starring role on Disney Channel’s, “Jonas” as Andrea. (Check it out this summer!) Claire is a fresh face and talent, and you should put her in your movies!
